It's all about me!!!!!!!

Sometimes....it's all about me..........

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I promised a while ago with Marley's lack of mischievousness in his old age that I would blog more about me, so here goes!

I have had a cold for FIVE weeks, yes FIVE weeks!  I have not been quiet about the fact that I have had a cold for FIVE weeks and today I gave in and went to the doctors because I am completely deaf in my left ear.  Seems I have a blocked tube between my nose and my ear which is causing fluid build up and so I now have a nasal spray to use and god willing, i mean seriously GOD WILLING, it will be better in a few days!!!!  In the meantime there will be lots of this...

and this..........

So to make myself feel better I spent TEN quid on a candle that smells of wild bluebells and peony's which is lovely and looks gorgeous next to my ribbon flowers very cleverly made by Natalie's niece Minnie....

Gorgeous!

I suppose I had better give Marley a mention before I go!  He is penciled in for the surgery on his leg next Monday providing the pre-authorisation comes through from the insurance company which fingers crossed it will!  I saw my friend Dawn this morning where Marley originally came from and she gave him a lovely butchers bone which had been in the freezer.  I gave it to him when I got home and I swear he lay in his bed with it for 3 hours!!!

Right I am off to see how many more people I can find to tell that I have had a cold for FIVE weeks!!!!!!

Return of the Ninja Squirrel!!

Hello!!!!!!!!!  It's been over a month since I was last here and whilst I have many things to catch up on I must start with a Peckham Ninja squirrel that is terrorising my sister!!!

My lovely sister Heather is a teacher in Peckham and lives in a really love flat on the top floor of a block in Peckham itself!  There is not much in the way of wildlife in Peckham but she has a lovely balcony with decking complete with chairs and various potted plants!  So imagine her surprise when she was confronted with this...........................

Let me introduce you to Leroy Jenkins, or Mister Jenkins to you and I!!! (named by Charlie)

So Heather first came across him on Saturday night sitting on the wall of her balcony.  She put an emergency call in to my Dad to ask "how the hell did he get up here?!".  Once he had stopped crying with laughter he explained to her that they are capable of climbing up drain pipes!  So there he sat eyeballing her for some time!  When she sent me the photo last night I asked her if he had made an appearance that day (Sunday) and she replied that the photo had been taken only 20 minutes previous, so it would seem he might be a regular visitor!

Of course my theory is that he is casing the joint and has a little "posse" waiting in the hood somewhere to pounce!!!!!

So back to us!!!!  To be brief we have moved house and are now enjoying the luxuries of heating and a dishwasher woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marley took a couple of weeks to settle in and in doing so my HORRIBLE neighbour next door set the dog warden on me about his barking while he tries to sleep in the day after his night shift.......................seriously don't get me started on this!  So after a long conversation with the dog warden who was very nice and not in the least bit judgmental she has closed the non-existent case!

The sad news is that Marley has torn the ligament in his other back leg!!!!!!!!  So i am just waiting for the insurance company to confirm that they will cover MORE surgery before I take him because without the insurance there is no way I can afford to get it done, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it!

So in the meantime I will leave you with a photo of a discovery I made a few weeks into living here, of a very cheeky Marley......

erm I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're on the Move!!

I have 1001 things to be doing this evening (catching up with Corrie being the most important!) but I haven't blogged for so long and there is so much going on I could tell you about that I have decided to do a quick post.

So we are bidding Hazel Cottage farewell this Saturday 14th!  we are moving to a lovely 2 bed terrace down the road which has heating (something Hazel Cottage does not have), a dishwasher, good plumbing and privacy!!!  It's sad that I have fallen out of love with Hazel Cottage but to be honest I have been here for 4 years and not had many happy times here, in fact I can barely recall any, so despite it being my namesake the time has come to move on!

Marley is of course coming with us.....

As are Dotty and Poppy but poor old lady Maisie has gone to live with my Mum and Dad who live on a farm because I can't take her with me to the new house due to her incontinence problems!  In other words she's a bloody pisser!!!!  She is very happy there though and has the whole countryside to roam around in bless her!

So things are all change!  I have decided that the dynamics of my blog may need to change too.  The lovely Marley seems to be maturing and is doing less and less funny and mischievous things now so there is less to blog about him, so I am thinking that perhaps I will blog more about my life in general!  I love to write so it would be a shame to stop and the animals will still be with me so I can include them in but I will have to try and to do some interesting things with my life to blog about!

So TTFN by the time I write another post I will be in my lovely new house with a big smile on my face!

M lovely old lady Maisie - I will miss her!

It's hot, hot hot!!!

So my car registered a temperature of 38 degrees this afternoon!!!!!!!  I'm guessing on the outside it's more like 30 but OMG it feels like about 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Marley, he is soooo hot, he is panting permanently (and that's not annoying much!!!!!) and loves coming out in the car for a drive just for the aircon!  And every time I turn around his water bowl is empty again!!!!!!!!

www.uncommondog.com

It doesn't seem to be bothering the kittens though!  Dotty very kindly brought in a half dead bird for them today, Ringo was like a ferrell cat I had to prise it off him to rescue it!  However Dotty has just returned with it and is now under Bobby's bed where I can't get to her, so I will have to deal with the left overs later!!!

Little Beauties!  Only a week to go till they can go woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep cool everyone!!!!!!

It is just me?......

Who has ridiculous animals...........................

Have you ever seen anything so ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

Marley taking to the sofa which I had put outside to go to the dump!!!!!!!

The babies sleeping in the bottom of the ironing board cover!!!!!!!

I love my animals but I find them utterly exhausting!!!!!!!!!!  Dotty is making me go funny in the head I swear!  If she is shut out in the night, she cries outside the front door from 4am till I let her in around 7!  ALL my cats are let out through the front door, they then come round the back door, come in and go straight to the front door to be let out again (this actually makes me want to cry).  Maisie wee's on the landing carpet if she is in the house for more than 5 minutes and Poppy has started spraying since she was "done" although thank god only outside but WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as for Marley, I feel quite sad that with his increasing age he is slightly less mischievous and I therefore have fewer stories to tell about him, but at the moment he could give Houdini a run for his money!  He is forever appearing out the front of the house and for a while I was baffled as to how he was escaping until i caught him the other day!

So there he was fast asleep on the INDOOR sofa and I was in the kitchen doing some ironing.  I saw him suddenly walk sleepily towards the back door and out into the garden so I stood back from the front room window to watch him!  He sauntered towards the end of the garden like a dog without a care in the world, casually put his front paws up on the fence and slowly hopped over it into next doors garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He seemed shocked that I had caught him and so far he hasn't done it again!  But seriously I can't watch him 24 hours a day and it is too hot at the moment to have the back door shut all the time!

GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!!

So as much as I love them all you have to have the patience of a saint to live with them!

Busta is in the wars at the moment too!  He has had an infection in his foot that had to be operated on and then he got stung in the eye by a wasp yesterday!!!!!!!!

ANIMALS - give me 10 kids anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busta's favourite position in long grass which is probably how he got something stuck in his foot!

Best buds!!

Meet Honey, Ringo and Tabitha

The kittens are almost 4 weeks old and they are absolutely thriving given their shaky start in life!!! So....

Here's Honey....

Named because of the beautiful ginger she has mixed in with her brown tabby markings!

This is Ringo....

The only boy - named because of the ring of tabby spots he has on his back!

And finally Tabitha....

Named because of her lovely dark tabby markings plus its my favourite name in the world!
Sorry Bobby and Charlie but if one of you had been a girl you would have been called Tabitha!!!

So there they are!  They are the funniest little things, I am pretty sure they were born premature they have big prem baby eyes and are like little pygmies!  They are very wobbly on their feet but love to play and fight with each other!

As for Marley he has finally had a clean bill of health from the surgeon!  His leg is all healed and he is allowed to have as much exercise as he will tolerate!  We went on a lovely woodland walk with Busta a few weeks ago during half term so I will leave you with some photos from then.....

This is the first year that they have both felt brave enough to venture into the water!

The big stick wasn't there when we got there, Busta and Marley were attempting to drag it into the water!

3 is the Magic Number!!!!

This was the scene upon my descent to bed on Wednesday night...

Now normally I have no tolerance for cats on my bed at night especially Maisie who purrs in her sleep and sounds like a pneumatic drill and then there's the slight problem of piss on my landing carpet courtesy of Maisie whenever she is allowed in over night!  But anyway I must have been REALLY tired because I decided to give them a little treat and allow them to join me for the night...BIG mistake because at 4.45 I woke to the sound of Dotty licking the duvet cover furiously and when I peeked over the covers there she was grunting and pushing away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A total shock seeing as she had only been pregnant for about 5 minutes and had a very small bulge to show for it but anyway within about 20 minutes here the first one was....

What a wonderful sight until Dotty beared teeth and picked the whole kitten up in her mouth, with me thinking she was going to kill it (cats do this is they feel threatened or to help mother nature take it's course), she headed for underneath the duvet!  So I grabbed her and the little scrawny thing bearing some resemblance to a kitten and put them in the wardrobe where she promptly picked it back up and flung herself at the bed and under the duvet.

Sooooo what else could I do but sit downstairs with a coffee at 5.30 AM!!!!!!!  Whilst she brought 2 more scrawny little chickens into the world, this being the result....

OMG LOOK AT MY BED LINEN!!!!!!!!!

So there they were, VERY scrawny and far too little to be in this world, Dotty either had them too early or she is just too small and young herself to have been able to carry very healthy kittens.  I have left her to it for the most part, for the first 2 days she had no idea what she was doing, they didn't seem to be feeding very well and when she went in to them she would plonk herself on top of them.

However we are a few days on and despite my initial worries that they wouldn't make it past a couple of days, they seem to be doing well, Dotty has got the hang of it although when they sleep she buggers off out for hours at a time, but always seems to know to come back when they need feeding!  And here they are today....

You can see how tiny they are, they are all chicken legs and not much else!  We have two girls and a boy and one of them has got an eye open already which is a good sign!

Poppy is off to the vets tomorrow (sshhhh I haven't told her yet) to be "done" "spayed" "neutered" whatever you wanna call it, so that will be one down and as soon as Dotty is ready I will take her too I don't really want to put her through the ordeal again!

As for Marley he is still here, his back leg is back to normal and he has a final check up in a couple of weeks!  Busta came round to play the other day so I will leave you with some piccies of them...

Exhaustion and Despair!

Poppy that is not me!!!  The three amigos went on Thursday and Friday last week and Poppy is now flitting between exhaustion and feelings of despair!  This is how I found her yesterday morning....

Sleep at last!!!

The funny thing is had we kept the kittens or even just one of them, Poppy would very quickly had disowned them (she absolutely can't stand Dotty), but I can't help but feel her pain when she has been wandering around the house calling for them and when she can't find them she just sits and cries a bit!  She spent ALL night last night crying for them!!!!

I on the otherhand am soooooooooooooo relieved they are gone, because with them they have taken the persistent smell of kitten poo and wee!!!!

Still Dotty is now up the duff (can you believe it!!!) so it won't be long until I am having to contend with hers grrrr..............

So poor old Marley is still confined to lead walks only although his legs appears to be pretty much back to normal!  I did a little naughty thing though and let him off the lead over the park the other day because it was lovely warm sunshine and Busta was out with us and I just wanted to let him have some freedom!  It was so lovely to see and he LOVED it.....

Right I am off to sort some washing out (I hate sundays!!!) and then I am going to take Marley for a sneaky roam around the meadows off his lead (don't tell the surgeon!!!).
